Team “Captain Planet” combines members from four John Carroll organizations. WJCU-88.7FM joins students from the John Carroll University chapters of the Society of Professional Journalists, Amnesty International and TV-4, the on-campus cable student-run television channel.
Several popular on-air broadcasters will be members of the relay team including Station Manager Joe Madigan, host of “Retro Radio” Tuesdays from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Diana Orabovic, host of “Beautiful Mess” Thursdays from midnight-2:00 a.m. and Gene Natale who’s new show airs Thursday mornings. Relay For Life teams include eight to twelve members who individually raise money which is then pooled into team totals. All donations then go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life which helps fund cancer research. Relay events include a constant stream of events, entertainment and community fun. The 2007 theme, super heroes, is highlighted by this year’s slogan: “It’s a bird…It’s a plane…It’s a cure!” For more information visit the 2007 John Carroll University Relay For Life site.
