This edition of Making the Case features Akaya Windwood. Akaya Windwood is president and chief executive officer of the Rockwood Leadership Institute. Having spent over 40 years working for change, she is committed to social and economic justice, and to building a compelling vision for effectiveness and collaboration within the nonprofit and social benefit sectors. Windwood has served on the Alameda County Human Relations Commission, and the Alameda County Hate Violence Prevention Task Force. She was a co-founder of the Women’s National Leadership Project. She holds a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology and has done doctoral work in clinical psychology at the University of California, Berkeley.
