WJCU was honored at <strong><a href="http://www.cancer.org">The American Cancer Society&#8217;s Relay For Life</a></strong> as &#8220;The Last Team Standing&#8221; helping to raise over $30,000 this weekend for cancer research.</p>
<p>88.7FM volunteered its services to DJ the 18-hour event in University Heights with WJCU personalities <strong>Mandey Corsi </strong>(Team Captain) of &#8220;The Heights&#8221;, <strong>Katie Sickels</strong> of &#8220;She&#8217;s Got The Beat&#8221;, <strong>Jack Morton</strong> of &#8220;Midnight Sun&#8221;, <strong>Lydia Munnell</strong> and <strong>Anna Schade</strong> of &#8220;The Heights&#8221;, <strong>Eric Simna</strong> of &#8220;NEO Rocks&#8221;, <strong>Gene Natale</strong> of &#8220;The Rock&#8221;, <strong>John Roddy</strong> of &#8220;The Vindictive Alarm Clock&#8221;, <strong>Diega Bravo</strong> of &#8220;Latin Lingo&#8221; and WJCU&#8217;s weather reporter <strong>Rob Duns</strong>.</p>
<p>Appearances were made by many other members of the WJCU staff throughout the day and night committed to help find a cure for cancer.</p>

<em>Caribbean Groove</em>&#8217;s <strong>Leisa Engel</strong> and <strong>DJ Chubby</strong> have been honored in the <strong><a href="http://www.chatboutcleveland.com/criss_list">2010 Criss List Awards</a></strong>!</p>
<p>Recognizing the best of the best in Cleveland&#8217;s Caribbean Community, Leisa Engel and DJ Chubby won for &#8220;<strong>Best Radio Personalities</strong>&#8221; and DJ Chubby also won &#8220;<strong>Best Selector </strong>(DJ)&#8221; at the March 14th awards bash held at Caribbean Flavor in Cleveland. <p>On Friday February 19th, <strong>Cryptkicker</strong>, <strong>Suede </strong><strong>Brothers</strong>, <strong>Venomin </strong><strong>James</strong>, <strong>Lick </strong><strong>The </strong><strong>Blade </strong>and <strong>ESD </strong>team up while on Saturday February 20th, <strong>Shok </strong><strong>Paris</strong>, <strong>Eternal </strong><strong>Legacy</strong>, <strong>Ground </strong><strong>Zero</strong>, <strong>Soulless</strong>, and <strong>Archetype </strong>highlight a night of metal you don&#8217;t want to miss! </p>
<p>Tickets are just $7 and all proceeds benefit WJCU&#8211;keeping non-commercial, non-corporate controlled radio alive and well in Cleveland.  Both shows start at 7:00 pm, doors opening at 6:30.  </p>
<p>Auburn Records is owned by Bill Peters, host of <em>Metal on Metal</em>, heard every Friday on WJCU from 6:30-9:30 pm (EST).</p>
