DJ El-Prez from Soul Elixir will be spinning with The Admirables & The Si Si Three at Musica in Akron. Musica is located at 51 E. Market Street in Akron.

Remember to tune into DJ El-Prez and Soul Elixir each Tuesday evening from 6:00pm-8:00pm, only on WJCU.

WJCU’s summer lineup began at midnight on Sunday, May 12th, and features three new genre shows.

Tuesday mornings from midnight-2:00am will feature Catnap’s Frank as he’ll be spinning the best of the ’80s during “Living in Oblivion”.

Then on Wednesday night’s from midnight-2:00am, Matt and Matt’s Gamut will kick off your Wednesday in style.

And then on Thursday from midnight-2:00am, Jake Clemens returns to the WJCU airways with UnderlandRadio, playing the best in electronic, techno and dance.

Vocal Vibrations with Maddie & Jackie will return to WJCU this Summer on a different day and time! Now airing on Monday evenings from 10:00pm-midnight.

WJCU Relay for Life Team Raises $720

WJCU is pleased to announce that our 2013 Relay for Life Team raised $720 in support of cancer research and finding a cure.

WJCU’s Relay for Life Team participated in John Carroll University’s Relay event on Saturday, April 20, 2013.

DJ El-Prez Spinning Hits for Record Store Day

On Saturday April 20th DJ El-Prez from Soul Elixir is spinning the jams at Calhoun Record Shop, and at a Vinyl Appreciation Night at Uncorked Winery in Akron, Ohio in honor of Record Store Day

El-Prez will be spinning at Calhouns Records from 11:00 am-6:00pm, and will then be spinning at Uncorked from 8:00 pm-midnight.

The Heights, 88.7 FM presents Matt Costa at the Beachland Ballroom on Tuesday, April 9th. Doors open at 7:30 pm with the concert beginning at 8:30 pm.

Costa will also be stopping by the WJCU studios for an interview prior to the show on April 9th. Time of the interview is T.B.A.

Many Voices, Many Choices Radiothon 2013 was a huge success thanks to you!

Thank you for your continuing support of non-commercial radio, and for supporting all of the programming here at WJCU!

Just a reminder also that if you pledged to Radiothon and have not sent your check, you need to do so now! Those who have sent checks should be receiving donation confirmation letter by the end of this week. We cannot send confirmations or premiums without payment.

Radiothon premiums will be packaged on Saturday March 9, and mailed out on March 11. Feel free to call 216-397-4437 with any questions or concerns pertaining to your donation.

WJCU Sports Announces Baseball and Softball Schedule

The basketball season has ended, but WJCU Sports is ready to bring you a full baseball and softball season! All games are subject to weather conditions and will be broadcast on WJCU-2.

Softball coverage begins March 20, when the Blue Streaks take on Ohio Wesleyan in the home opener at Bracken Field at 3:30 p.m.

Baseball coverage begins April 3, when the team welcomes Denison for a 4:00 p.m. game at Schweickert Field.

Enter Stage Left, Diversified Funk and The Mixing Bored join WJCU lineup

WJCU is pleased to announce the addition of three new genre shows.

“Enter Stage Left” with Amanda & Karyn will feature the best in Broadway & show tunes, and will air Thursday mornings from midnight to 2:00 am.

And making a return to WJCU after a brief hiatus is “Diversified Funk” with Carole. Carole returns on Thursday nights from 8:00-10:00pm, spinning the best tunes in soul, funk, reggae and much more.

Making its debut this year will be “The Mixing Bored”, airing Friday nights from 9:30 pm-11:30 pm. Join Tim & Jon as they bring you a supreme blend of sound collage rock n’ roll radio.

“The Mixing Bored” takes the place of “Music to Break Things By” after 12 years on the air at WJCU. We all wish Adam & Andy the very best in their future endeavors, and we thank them for giving us 12 great years on the air. Adam & Andy decided to retire the show on January 4th.

“The Rock” with Gene will follow “The Mixing Bored” at 11:30 pm and will run until 2:00 am.
