DJ HANNAH [ FRIDAYS 11am-12:30pm ]

genimage.jpgAward-winning and nationally honored pianist DJ Hannah makes her debut on WJCU’s airwaves this season. Listen to her first season Friday mornings from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on 88.7FM or online at wjcu.org/listen.

The recipient of the prestigious Paderewski Gold Medal from the American College of Musicians, DJ Hannah competed nationally in piano for 11 years. “My favorite thing in the world is to just sit down and run through my favorite piano pieces” Hannah said.

Here at John Carroll University, DJ Hannah extends her streak of musical abilities as a member of the Carroll Singers and very soon as a member of the JCU Gospel Choir.

It would be difficult to single out a certain musician or genre that this seasoned vet in the music field uses as inspiration or enjoys in her free time. “I love every kind of music you can think of” Hannah says, “from Frank Sinatra to the The Eagles.”

The John Carroll University senior stays busy outside of the studio serving as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, and of course as one of John Carroll’s most talented wrestlers. Adams also hits the books often as a double major in Economics and Finance at John Carroll’s Boler School of Business. And as if that all wasn’t enough he is also an expert unicycle bicyclist!

Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews, Incubus, and Barenaked Ladies find themselves at the top of Ben’s music hit-list. But this Detroit Redwings and Pistons buff also says country music and “of course anything played on The Heights” rank among his favorite genres as well.
