Retro Radio celebrates 45th anniversary of Monterey Pop Festival

Retro Radio celebrates the 45th anniversary of the Monterey Pop Festival this Saturday December 1st, starting at a special time, 12:30pm.

The 5 hour special features live recordings from that historic festival, that took place in Monterey, California in June of 1967. The festival featured Jefferson Airplane, The Who, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Byrds, Big Brother & The Holding Company, Simon & Garfunkel, Lou Rawls, Canned Heat, and more.

This special presentation originally aired on WJCU over the summer in a two part special. This Saturday, re-live it again as both parts of the special will air back-to-back starting at 12:30pm this Saturday December 1st on 88.7 WJCU and online at wjcu.org.
