The Outspoken Cyclist – 10/08/2011

Here’s a generous dose of cycleliciousness to make you both smile and think this week.

Our first guest is Laura Moulton, a writer and artist living in Portland, Oregon. Among her many unusual and creative projects are Gumball Poetry and Street Books, a mobile, bicycle-based library serving the city’s homeless population. Just when you might think we’ve run out of new uses for pedal power…

The weather in northeast Ohio this week brought clear skies and mild temperatures, which must have elevated our moods, because Diane and I seemed to be freer than usual with the commentary and banter. We did however, save time to chat with friend and cycling advocate Keith Laughlin of the Rails to Trails Conservancy. Keith has the lowdown on the Transportation Bill, and exciting news for anyone who uses the U.S. rail-trail network.
