John Carroll Women’s Basketball vs. Wilmington College (OAC Tournament First Round)

02/20/12–The John Carroll Women’s Basketball team travels to Wilmington to battle the Quakers in the first round of the OAC tournament. Bringing you all the coverage from Wilmington are WJCU’s own Howard Regal and Conor Vile.

Special Apology goes out to all Blue Streaks fans as this game did not air as originally scheduled on WJCU-2. Circumstances out of WJCU’s control prohibited this broadcast from being aired when it was originally scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Feb. 20th. We have worked to rectify the problem and have successfully done so. We again sincerely apologize and we thank you for your continual support of Blue Streak broadcasts aired on WJCU and WJCU-2.

The Rock

Born in September of 2006 and first on the air on Jan 18, 2007, The Rock is quite possibly the best rock and roll radio show in town. Featuring a mix of hard alternative, metal, and metalcore. Gene is your host, and he knows how to keep it rockin' much better than all those "other shows". Wordplay

Wordplay is an offbeat mix of poetry, comedy, and an ongoing exploration of the possibilities of the spoken word. Wordplay's opening monologue blends music and language (and sometimes sound effects) into a surreal, funny, often darkly serious meditation on the state of one man's struggles to live in the bewildering world of contemporary America. The show also features guest appearances by local poets and nationally known writers. But the real strength of Wordplay is the interaction between co-hosts George Bilgere and John Donoghue. The two poets read short, interesting poems by important writers. They banter about poetry, argue about it, and generally give each other a hard time. A Plain Dealer article about Wordplay called the show "the Click and Clack of poetry." Not a bad description.
